The Medicine is Only Half the Journey
A 28-Day clinical and contemplative protocol for psilocybin preparation
Your Inner Guide: 28 Days to Maximize your Psilocybin Journey
Welcome.
A science-informed, therapeutically-aligned, multidimensional curriculum designed to minimize risks and maximize the transformative potential of psilocybin.
Preparation is far more than a logistical checklist; it is the process of building a conscious, collaborative relationship with your own mind. True informed consent goes beyond signing a form–it means understanding the science of how psilocybin interacts with your own unique biology and identifying potential risks or medication interactions before you begin.
By proactively addressing your psychological defenses now, you learn to meet your “inner protectors” with curiosity rather than resistance, descreasing the chance that they will become obstacles during the journey itself. Ultimately, psilocybin is not a magic wand that “fixes” you, but a supportive catalyst that amplifies the capacity for change you already possess. This protocol ensures you aren’t just a passenger, but a skilled navigator of your own healing.
Transformation is an active partnership. The more intentionally you engage with this preparation, the more fertile the ground becomes for the plant medicine to do its work.
The 4-Phase Protocol:
Building “Inner Fitness”
True transformation requires more than just a dose. Over 28 days preceding a journey, you will receive a daily, bite-sized email covering essential components of deep psychedelic work. These daily lessons are designed to be informative, actionable, and accessible to a busy and demanding life, asking no more than fifteen minutes a day of attention and practice for meaningful impact. The curriculum loosely follows a scaffolded approach, with each of the four phases building on the one(s) prior:
Phase one
Safety & Foundations (Days 1-7)
We cover medical contraindications, psychological risks, drug interactions (like the SSRI “blunting” effect), and the neuroscience of how psilocybin interacts with the brain. We look at the foundational “three I’s” of Intention, Information, and Introspection as means to strengthen your mindset.
Phase two
The Inner Gym (Days 8-14)
Here, we build the muscle of Mindful Awareness. You will learn to move from being the lead actor in your personal drama to becoming the “Witness” in the theater of your mind–all while practicing the essential art of radical acceptance. These introspective tools promote emotional regulation during the high-intensity moments of the journey and expand your capacity for letting go into the process.
Phase three
The Deep Architecture (Days 15-23)
We explore why the past often surfaces during a journey, and why this represents such a unique transformational opportunity. Using modern trauma paradigms, we examine egoic defenses and mental conditioning, learning how to work with these patterns skillfully rather than being overwhelmed by them.
Phase four
The Journey & Beyond (Days 24-28)
We prepare for the nuances of the experience itself. We cover the four subtypes of “bad trips” and how to navigate them, how to relate to (and make sense of) spiritual experiences, and how to maximize the critical 14-day neuroplasticity window that follows your journey.
